ACSR Conductor (Steel Core Aluminum Stranded Wire) is the most widely used conductor for overhead high-voltage power transmission and distribution lines across the globe. The inner galvanized steel core of ACSR conductor boasts an ultra-high tensile strength ranging from 1200 MPa to 1960 MPa. It can easily withstand extreme mechanical loads including conductor dead weight, strong wind, ice coating and snow accumulation, ensuring stable long-term operation of power lines.


Its exclusive steel core structure achieves low-sag performance. As steel has a far lower thermal expansion coefficient than aluminum, its line sag under current heating is 30%–50% lower than that of all-aluminum conductors (AAC), which greatly improves line safety under high-temperature operating conditions.


Benefiting from superior mechanical properties, the safe erection span of ACSR can exceed 500 meters. It effectively reduces the quantity of transmission towers and cuts infrastructure costs, making it highly suitable for long-span erection in complex terrains such as mountainous areas and river crossings.

High-efficiency conductor for large-capacity power transmission

The outer layer of ACSR is made of 99.5% high-purity 1350-H19 aluminum, with conductivity up to approximately 61% IACS. It realizes low-loss power transmission while guaranteeing efficient power conduction, fully meeting the power supply demands of high-voltage and extra-high-voltage large-capacity transmission lines.


Large-specification ACSR conductors can carry an electric current exceeding 3000 A, making them the preferred conductor for power lines up to 500 kV. In addition, its larger outer diameter raises the corona inception voltage, reduces corona loss and operating noise in high-voltage operation, and further improves power transmission efficiency and environmental friendliness.

A dense oxide film is formed on the aluminum surface to effectively resist corrosion caused by atmospheric erosion, acid rain and coastal salt fog. The steel core adopts high-grade Class A/B/C galvanizing treatment for lasting rust prevention. The dual protective structure ensures stable line operation.


It maintains stable working performance within the temperature range of -40°C to +75°C (aluminum annealing temperature limit). It can adapt to extreme environments such as severe cold, high heat and high altitude, being an ideal choice for areas with complex climatic conditions.

The steel-aluminum ratio of ACSR conductors can be flexibly adjusted to satisfy differentiated project demands. Conductors with higher steel core ratio are applicable to scenes requiring high mechanical strength, such as long-span crossing lines and heavy ice-covered areas; those with higher aluminum content fit large-current and long-distance power transmission.


Such structural flexibility enables its full-scenario application. It works stably in plains, mountains, river-crossing sections and coastal areas, as well as heavy ice zones and high-altitude regions.
